How pregAI sources its verdicts

Every food verdict we publish, in the app and in our food safety guide, follows the same rules. No forum opinions, no guesswork, no exceptions.

1. Official sources only

Each verdict is grounded in the published guidance of recognised public-health authorities: the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the World Health Organization (WHO), the UK National Health Service (NHS), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the French Agency for Food Safety (ANSES), the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Every page cites the exact sources behind its verdict, with links, so you can check for yourself and share them with your doctor.

2. When authorities disagree, we pick the cautious answer

Health agencies sometimes differ. Where guidance diverges, our verdict follows the most conservative published position, and the page explains the divergence openly so you can decide with your midwife or doctor.

3. Verdicts are specific, not vague

A useful answer is not "be careful". Each verdict names the actual risk (listeria, mercury, raw egg, caffeine), states the conditions that change it (cooked vs raw, pasteurized vs not, trimester) and offers safer alternatives.

4. Guidance evolves, and so do our pages

Official recommendations change. Our pages carry their last update date and are revised when the underlying guidance moves.
